Best pictures from Penn State’s White Out victory vs. Washington

Check out some of the best photos from Penn State’s latest home game against Washington in front of a White Out crowd in Beaver Stadium.

The White Out atmosphere was electric, as it always is on Saturday evening, and Penn State made sure its fans went home happy. The Nittany Lions offense came out on fire, scoring on four straight drives to put the wheels in motion for a 35-6 win over the Washington Huskies. There were several notable moments, especially when Tyler Warren went airborne for a touchdown.

Penn State will look to keep the positive momentum going next week on the road against Purdue, which was trounced by Ohio State earlier on Saturday. Penn State must remain sharp to keep the possibility of hosting a College Football Playoff game alive.

Here are some of the best photos from Penn State’s White Out against Washington.

UGA transfer among College Football 25’s top risers

Georgia football cornerback transfer records his first INT and is among the top risers in the latest College Football 25 update

Former Georgia Bulldog cornerback A.J. Harris, who now plays for the Penn State Nittany Lions, is among the top risers in EA Sports College Football 25. Harris has emerged as one of Penn State’s top defenders. His rating in College Football 25 increased from 82 overall to 84 overall in a recent update.

Harris’ impact is felt beyond the video game world. The former Georgia cornerback has 11 total tackles and one interception this season.

Harris, a former five-star recruit, recorded his first career interception in Penn State’s 21-7 win over Illinois last week.

Unfortunately the sophomore’s pick six against Illinois was called back due to a penalty. Harris showed lots of promise as a true freshman at Georgia, but as Harris’ freshman season went on he saw less snaps with the UGA defense.

The Bulldogs could have used another body to throw at Alabama star wide receiver Ryan Williams last week. Georgia did not stop Williams from scoring two long touchdowns in UGA’s 41-34 loss to Alabama.

Here’s a look at A.J. Harris’ first career interception.

Georgia’s pass defense improved in the second half against Alabama with the notable exception of two long plays to Ryan Williams.

UGA transfer is Penn State’s highest graded defender

UGA football cornerback transfer grades as Penn State’s best defender in impressive Week 1 win at West Virginia

Former Georgia Bulldog cornerback A.J. Harris made an immediate impact in Week 1 for the Penn State Nittany Lions. Harris, a former five-star recruit, is a sophomore and showed some of his immense talent right away as a true freshman at Georgia. However, as Harris’ freshman season went on his role  decreased with the Georgia defense.

Harris was Penn State’s highest-graded defender in the Nittany Lions’ 34-12 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers in Week 1. Penn State dominated the West Virginia offense. The Mountaineers managed 250 yards of offense and really struggled to pass against Penn State.

Harris played a key role for the Nittany Lions. He started and recorded three tackles and a pass deflection. In 54 total snaps, Harris was Penn State’s highest-graded defender according to Pro Football Focus. Harris earned a PFF grade of 79.4 and is poised to play even better as he settles into the Penn State defense.

Harris is not the only former Georgia transfer with a standout performance in Week 1. Kentucky quarterback Brock Vandagriff looked good in his first career start. Purdue receiver De’Nylon Morrissette scored the first touchdown of his college career as well.

CBS Sports predicts breakout year from Penn State transfer addition A.J. Harris

CBS Sports writer thinks this Penn State transfer addition could be prepping for a breakout season.

Penn State has had many talented defensive backs come through the program in recent years, and one of their newest additions in the secondary is getting love as a potential breakout star. [autotag]A.J. Harris[/autotag] joined the Nittany Lions after one year at Georgia where he could not get consistent playing time. Georgia’s secondary is one of the deepest in the country, so failing to find a role as a true freshman isn’t surprising.

Despite the lack of snaps during his freshman season, CBS’s Will Backus pegged Harris as one of his second-year breakout stars, citing his physical play style as a perfect fit in the Big Ten. He has seemingly earned a starting spot as Penn State looks to replace three departing corners from last year’s team. He was a five-star recruit for a reason, and now he should get a full season of reps to prove his worth.

Penn State will need Harris and fellow SEC transfer Jalen Kimber to pair with Cam Miller as a dynamic trio in the secondary this season. With passing games like USC, Ohio State, and Washington on the schedule, they can’t afford to have any exploits in the secondary.

Luckily, Penn State has one of the best safety duos in the country with Kevin Winston Jr. and Jaylen Reed. Their ability to keep the top on the defense should allow Harris in particular to play his physical brand of coverage. I believe Harris could have a similar impact to what Kalen King had in his sophomore season in 2022, and he played so well that many thought he was a better NFL prospect than Joey Porter Jr.

That is high expectations for a first-year starter, but that’s the kind of impact Penn State needs from him as they chase a College Football Playoff berth. If he does indeed break out as a second-year star, he could be looking at a potential NFL future and will live up to his five-star hype.

Georgia transfer predicted to have breakout season

Former Georgia football cornerback is projected to have a breakout season in the Big Ten

Former Georgia Bulldogs cornerback A.J. Harris is predicted to have a breakout season with the Penn State Nittany Lions. Harris transferred to Penn State this winter.

Harris is expected to immediately start for Penn State. Harris, a sophomore, is the No. 13 player and No. 2 cornerback to transfer this offseason according to 247Sports. Only one Georgia Bulldog finished ranked higher than Harris in the transfer portal.

Will Backus of CBS Sports notes why he expects Harris to break out as a sophomore.

“Given how well Georgia recruits the secondary, Harris would have had trouble consistently finding the field early this year despite his former five-star status,” said Backus. “Penn State offers him the opportunity to lock down a starting role, something he seems to have accomplished after a strong spring with the Nittany Lions. He has the physicality to excel in the Big Ten and led all defenders with seven tackles in Penn State’s spring game.”

Harris played well as a true freshman at Georgia, but saw less playing time as the year went on. He is ready to start at the Power Four level and could be Penn State’s top cornerback this year.

Penn State lost cornerbacks Kalen King and Daequan Hardy to the 2024 NFL draft, so the Nittany Lions are missing experience in the secondary. Harris, who is a former five-star recruit, is capable of filling that void.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defensive back started the 2023 season strongly for the Bulldogs and should be an instant impact transfer. Harris appeared in seven games as a true freshman and recorded eight tackles.

Current and former Bulldog each named as spring standouts

247Sports’ Josh Pate named an incoming Georgia Bulldogs transfer as well as one left in the winter as standouts at their respective programs through early practices.

In a review of spring intel from various different programs around the country, 247Sports’ Josh Pate named an incoming Georgia transfer as well as one transferred to a Big Ten school as standouts at their respective programs through early practices.

On the Georgia side, Pate highlighted Colbie Young, the wide receiver transfer from Miami. “Colbie Young has been really good at wide receiver this spring. They’ll be able to count on him. He can be a go-to option for them,” said Pate. Young has garnered incessant praise this spring from numerous other sources and drawn comparisons to former Bulldogs star George Pickens as well as fellow former Miami transfer Lawrence Cager.

Pate also praised former Georgia cornerback A.J. Harris, now in Happy Valley at Penn State. “Georgia cornerback transfer A.J. Harris (has) drawn really, really good reviews. That’s who you should be focused on,” said Pate.

Harris was a five-star recruit in the class of 2023 and transferred after a season in Athens. He could be in position to take on a major role for a Penn State team that is seeking to replace cornerbacks Kalen King and Daequan Hardy, both of whom are expected to be drafted this April.

Penn State’s defense was elite in 2023, but its offense was painful to watch. The Nittany Lions are almost always among the top contenders in the Big Ten.

Former Georgia DB AJ Harris is visiting Auburn this weekend

Harris, a native of Phenix City, is visiting Auburn this weekend after spending one season in Athens.

Hugh Freeze and Auburn’s coaching staff have struck gold by earning the commitments of two Central-Phenix City prospects, [autotag]Cam Coleman[/autotag] and [autotag]Dylan Gentry[/autotag].

Do they feel lucky enough to roll the dice on the possibility of earning a pledge from another former Red Devil? The possibility is evident.

[autotag]AJ Harris[/autotag], who signed with Georgia as a member of the 2023 recruiting class from Central-Phenix City, entered the transfer portal on Thursday. Not long after announcing his intention to enter the transfer portal, Harris made plans to visit Auburn. According to On3, Harris is paying a visit to the Plains this weekend.

Harris was the No. 1 recruit from the state of Alabama for the 2023 class. He was considered to be a five-star prospect by 247Sports, and was the No. 2 cornerback in the nation.

Despite the high-acclaim on the recruiting trail, Harris did not earn as much playing time in Athens that he was expecting. He played in five games this season for Georgia according to Pro Football Focus, totaling 89 snaps.

Auburn is looking to replace [autotag]DJ James[/autotag] and [autotag]Nehemiah Pritchett[/autotag] in the backfield next season, and Harris could be a solid fit. The current transfer portal window will remain open until Jan. 2.

Georgia football loses 5-star CB to transfer portal

Georgia football loses 5-star CB to transfer portal

Hits keep coming for Georgia football via the transfer portal. Former five-star cornerback A.J. Harris entered his name into the portal on Friday night in another shocking departure for the Bulldogs.

The news comes one day after preseason All-American linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson entered the portal.

Harris played in seven games this season, recording eight tackles. Our first glimpse of the true freshman was during the G-Day spring scrimmage in which he had six tackles and a pass breakup.

Harris (6 feet, 1 inch, 190 pounds) didn’t see much playing time behind Kamari Lassiter, Daylen Everette, Julian Humphrey and Nyland Green.

Harris was the No. 2 cornerback nationally and the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama coming out of Central High School in Phenix City, per 247Sports.

Harris was expected to play a major role at the position in 2024 with Lassiter likely NFL draft bound and Green in the portal.

Sixteen Bulldogs have entered the portal to date. Three are former five-star recruits: Harris, outside linebacker Marvin Jones Jr. and quarterback Brock Vandagriff (Kentucky).

The Bulldogs will have to play some inexperienced players when they take on Florida State in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 in Miami. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET and the game will air on ESPN.
