The Spartans have extended a scholarship offer to 2023 four-star athlete Adon Shuler of Irvington, N.J. Shuler announced the scholarship offer via Twitter on Monday evening.

Shuler is currently committed to Notre Dame, and has been since last August. However, that hasn’t stopped a number of schools from continuing to recruit this highly-rated prospect. Along with Michigan State, Shuler picked up offers from Duke, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida State, Akron and Kent State on Monday.

Shuler is ranked as the No. 12 safety and No. 151 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2023 class.

Multiple Notre Dame 2023 commits putting their recruiting hats on

Love to see it

Recruiting isn’t an exact science, each player typically is looking for something different in their recruitment. Facilities, location, weather, the pipeline to the NFL are just a few examples of what a recruit wants at the next level.

Another one is the connection with your future teammates and two Irish commits, New Jersey cornerback Adon Shuler and instate linebacker Drayk Bowen are trying to lure in some big time recruits. Today on Twitter, both Shuler and Bowen each tagged a different high level recruit to join them in South Bend.

Shuler went on the other side of the ball, tagging Michigan quarterback Dante Moore, a 5-Star recruit, to join the Irish class.

Bowen, stayed with a potential fellow defender, Maryland end Jason Moore.

With the Irish off to an extremely impressive start to their 2023 class, adding these two stars to the group is not out of the question.

Every one of the current commits is on the defensive side of the ball, once again, showing that defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman is doing a fantastic job on the recruiting trail. Although Shuler could end up as a wide receiver his ceiling is much higher on the defense side of the ball.

At six-foot-one-inch and 190-pounds, versatility the the name of Shuler’s game as he enters his junior year of high school. Find out below what to expect when the talented athlete finally arrives in South Bend.

First off, every time Shuler steps on the field, he’s the best athlete on either side. He’s dynamic as a receiver but his true skills are on the other side of the ball. As a back end defender, Shuler reads the eyes of the quarterback extremely well, which he uses to get great breaks on throws. This extends to his ability to come up in run support as well, he’s lightning quick when he reads the play.

A sure tackler, who more often than not goes after the ball carriers feet instead of trying to tackle high. Shuler has above average to elite speed while plays well when he’s a gunner on special teams along with in coverage situations.

Overall, the Irish are getting a big time playmaker who should end up roaming the secondary when he arrives in South Bend.

How good is this defense setting up to be in the future?

Notre Dame landed the third commitment of the 2023 recruiting class Sunday when four-star safety Adon Shuler announced his decision to play for the Fighting Irish.

Shuler comes from Irvington, New Jersey and is ranked as a top-200 player in the entire 2023 class by 247Sports.  He checks in at 6-0, 190-pounds and chose the Irish over the likes of Penn State, Maryland, Florida, Boston College, and several others.

Shuler is Notre Dame’s third commitment in the 2023 class, all of which come in on the defensive side of the football.

Two Penn State football recruiting targets set commitment dates

Can Penn State put the finishing touches on its Class of 2022 and begin setting the table for 2023 with a pair of upcoming commitment announcements?

Two Penn State recruiting targets have set their commitment dates for the 2022 and 2023 class. The Nittany Lions continue to impress with their loaded class of 2022. Yesterday, they added a three-star safety out of Maryland, Kevin Winston. They even gained some momentum for their 2023 recruiting class by making the top four of four-star tight end Ty Lockwood.

Today, there are two more players to watch from both classes, both setting their commitment dates. The first one is FS/WR Adon Shuler from Irvington, New Jersey. The Nittany Lions continue to recruit versatility, as they added S/WR Cristian Driver, who committed to Penn State last week.

Shuler, a class of 2023 recruit, has set his commitment date for August 15th. The crystal ball predictions have Notre Dame at the top of the realm, but Penn State is in a tight race with them and Maryland.

The next player to watch adds to their loaded 2022 class, and that is three-star offensive lineman Andre Roye from Baltimore, Maryland. There are no crystal ball predictions, but Roye has garnered a lot of interest from the Nittany Lions. Roye is the 10th ranked offensive lineman in the state of Maryland and ranked 43 in the nation at his position.

Roye has set his commitment date for September 22nd, according to his Twitter.
