Dressed for Success: Xander Schauffele at the 2022 Travelers Championship

Check out the Adidas apparel worn by Xander Schauffele at the 2022 Travelers Championship.

Xander Schauffele stayed tough down the stretch and held on to win the 2022 Travelers Championship.

Both of Schauffele’s wins on Tour this year have come with Patrick Cantlay by his side. This was Xander’s first solo win this season, as he teamed with Cantlay to win the Zurich Classic earlier this year.

Schauffele was decked out in Adidas apparel this weekend, though that’s nothing new for the six-time PGA Tour winner as he’s been an Adidas athlete for his entire career.

We’ve already taken a deep dive inside Schauffele’s Winner’s Bag but now we get to open up the champion’s closet and see how Xander Schauffele dressed for success at the 2022 Travelers Championship.

New Adidas Tour360 22 golf shoes provide better fit, traction

The men’s Tour360 22 will cost $210 while the women’s version will be $200.

The Adidas’ Tour360 golf shoe has been a signature style of the company for the last 17 years. When Adidas first developed the shoe, they pushed the boundaries of what a traditional golf shoe should look like and settled into a more sporty performance look. Now Adidas’ most popular tour shoe just received an upgrade with better fit and traction.

The new Tour360 ’22 shoe features a Dualstack midsole, Geofit collar pad, 3D Torsion System, Insite sockliner and an innovative traction system called Spikemore.

The Dualstack Midsole combines Adidas’ full-length Boost cushioning with a horseshoe-shaped EVA stability frame. This ensures lightweight stability in the shoe. The Geofit collar pad adds a personalized fit to the top of the foot.

The new Spikemore technology injects the cleats directly onto the TPU sole. There are no replaceable cleats, but the Spikemore design allowed Adidas to position large cleat-like traction elements in new areas, and adjust their density and weight, which helps with green friendliness.

In addition to their laced models, Adidas is offering a BOA option. The BOA Fit System includes micro-adjustable Li2 wraps around the heel which locks the foot into place while providing an easy customized fit.

The new Tour360 22 shoes will be seen on all your favorite tour players including current World No. 3, Dustin Johnson and 2020 Olympic gold medalist Xander Schauffele.

“I’ve worn almost every model of TOUR360 since I started my career and I’m always amazed at how the footwear team continues to raise the bar year after year,” said Johnson. “I really like the design and style with this new model, but the traction, feel and comfort I get definitely make this the best version of the TOUR360 that I’ve ever worn.”

In addition to the men’s version, Adidas is offering a Tour360 ’22 for women. The shoes offer identical technologies and features, but the shape of the women’s version is slightly wider in the forefoot and narrower in the heel area to more closely match the shape of most women’s feet.

The men’s Tour360 22 will cost $210 while the women’s version will be $200 available at adidas.com and select retailers beginning January 28. the BOA versions will be available starting March 1.

2021 Olympics: USA Golf gets wind, forest, fire and mountain themes from Adidas

The men and women of Team USA will be sporting looks from Adidas as they compete to make history at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

As the official uniform provider for USA Golf at the Tokyo Olympics, Adidas worked with Tokyo-based artist Hiroko Takahashi on how the red, white and blue will be presented at the Games. Takahashi is known for her minimalistic touches in her art. She used elements such as circles and straight lines to represent infinite possibilities as USA Golf works to make history in this year’s competition.

The golfers will play Kasumigaseki Country Club near Tokyo, and each round’s uniform scripting will represent a different characteristic: Round 1 – wind, Round 2 – forest, Round 3 – fire, and Round 4 – mountain.

Golf in the Games begins with the four-round men’s competition July 30-August 1, and the women will compete August 4-7.

The men’s team will be fitted in Ultimate365 and Heat.Rdy polos so players can remain cool as Tokyo’s temperatures rise. The material is made of Aqua-X yarns that are built to wick away sweat.

  • Round 1 men: An Ultimate365 polo in a white base with bold blue stripes.
  • Round 2 men: A sport-inspired light gray printed polo with a blade collar.
  • Round 3 men: A bright red polo featuring Takahashi’s unique representation of fire.
  • Round 4 men: A blue polo that complements an athletic look with a single red stripe from the collar and into the sleeves for added design detail.

The men will have a blue pant option to wear as their bottoms. The pant is made with Adidas’ beltway material deigned for a soft and ventilated feel.

The women will wear a mixture of Heat.Rdy and Aeroready materials to beat the Tokyo heat and play comfortably.

  • Round 1 women: A crew mock short-sleeve polo with a white base and blue stripes, paired with a 16-inch Ultimate Solid Skort with a bright red under short for an additional color.
  • Round 2 women: A choice between a mock collar long-sleeve shirt, short-sleeve or sleeveless polo featuring a sport collar construction. The women will pair this with a 3-inch pull-on woven short in blue with a USA logo and side slits in red.
  • Round 3 women: The players will be decked out in all red.
  • Round 4 women: A dress with a mock collar and hidden-zip closure. The dress is sleeveless and has an athletic cut.

“I think that I was able to design with a different perspective from when I design products for everyone to wear,” Takahashi said. “I believe that golf is a unique sport in a sense that it’s an individual sport, but you can also play it with a team. With that in my mind, I designed the USA Golf uniforms with links of circles and lines, imagining the powers of individuals coming together as one and spreading into infinite possibilities.”

Adidas Primeblue Code Chaos shoes debut at the Players

Using plastic pulled from the oceans and off beaches, Adidas strives to provide great performance while cleaning the environment.

Plastic bottles washed up on beaches and images of sea life tangled up in spools of fishing line or plastic beverage holders are depressing. Many items that find their way into the world’s oceans can be recycled, which not only cuts down on the amount of new plastic that needs to be used but also cleans up the environment.

Adidas has a goal of converting 100 percent of its virgin polyester to recycled in every application where a solution exists. To that end, at the 2019 U.S. Open, Adidas released the Tour 360 XT Parley golf shoes, footwear manufactured using upcycled plastic waste that has been intercepted from beaches and coastal communities in California. This week at the Players, several of the company’s staff players, including Dustin Johnson and Xander Schauffele, will be wearing apparel and footwear that is made using Adidas’ Primeblue material which is also manufactured using recycled ocean plastics.

The Primeblue Code Chaos golf shoes ($150) feature the same spikeless sole found in the standard Code Chaos shoes that were released in January. Made from rubber and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), the rigid traction elements cover the sole, but a scattering of oddly shaped traction elements have been added to the forefoot area. Called Twistgrip, these pieces create extra forefoot traction in every direction as a golfer swings.

The waterproof mesh upper, made using the upcycled plastic, is breathable while the Boost midsole provides extra cushioning.
