As the Browns look to make it three straight wins this season against the Bengals, they are getting healthy just in time.
The Cleveland Browns are looking for three wins in a row as they travel south down I-71 to take on the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. With a win at Paycor Stadium, the Browns will have swept the Bengals each year under head coach Kevin Stefanski. Needing to get healthy before they take the field against their division rivals, however, the Browns were still without three in Thursday’s practice.
However, with one player sitting out on a scheduled day of rest, only two did not see the field due to an ailment. Here is each player who was listed on the injury report and their practice status from today.
The Browns were missing a few key contributors from practice on Wednesday
The Cleveland Browns are looking to win their third game win in a row after a win over the Houston Texans as the Cincinnati Bengals are next on the schedule. With a win over the Bengals, the Browns will have swept Cincinnati three seasons in a row under head coach Kevin Stefanski. They do, however, have a pretty long list of players working through injuries at Wednesday’s practice as eight players did not participate.
While a handful of veterans sat out on the day with scheduled rest, there were a plethora who sat out with an injury or were limited in practice. Here is every player that appeared on Cleveland’s injury list on Wednesday.
With the Browns vs. Texans in three days, the Browns are missing two significant players from practice.
The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans are set for battle in three days as quarterback Deshaun Watson is set to make his first start in the brown and orange. However, the Browns were missing three significant contributors from Thursday’s practice.
As tight end David Njoku is still working through a knee injury, he has missed his second practice in a row. Cornerback Denzel Ward is also working through a groin injury as well. The third player missing from practice, long snapper Charley Hughlett was absent with an illness as well.
Keep your eyes peeled to see who is still out on the last day of practice tomorrow before the Browns travel to Houston.

The Cleveland Browns have announced that cornerback A.J. Green is currently in the medical tent being evaluated for a concussion against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The potential head injury came on a stick Green made in space to bring a ball carrier down for a minimal gain. Green is already filling in as the starting nickel as Greg Newsome is also missing the game with a concussion.
If the Browns are without Green the rest of the way, it will be Thomas Graham Jr. who will come on the field in nickel packages for the Cleveland defense. Stay tuned for more in-game updates from Browns Wire.
CB A.J. Green is being evaluated for a head injury.#Browns already without Greg Newsome. Green has been Newsome's replacement in the slot.
The Browns are heading into the bye week on a high note. What can we take away from their beatdown win over the Bengals?
Entering the bye week, the Cleveland Browns have an opportunity to get healthy as a handful of starters missed their Monday Night Football matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Even without key players, the Browns came away with a massive 32-13 beatdown of their division rivals.
They now sit with a record of 3-5 on the season (and 2-1 in the division), with the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers left on their schedule before their starting quarterback returns from suspension.
As we do every week, we bring our 4 Downs article to bring to the top four key aspects of the matchup. What can the Browns take from this game to ride into the bye week before they travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins?
The Browns come away with a big interception of Joe Burrow as A.J. Green comes away with the pick. Myles Garrett gets in on the action.
The Cleveland Browns come away with a massive first drive takeaway as cornerback A.J. Green picks off Joe Burrow. The Browns now take over possession in their own territory as they look to strike first in this Monday Night Football showdown.
Myles Garrett got in on the action as well, getting his hand on the football to tip the ball in the air to Green. Starting over Greedy Williams in nickel sets, Green is making the most of his opportunity early on after seeing sparing reps thus far in 2022.
Can the Browns capitalize offensively? We will keep you updated as the game goes on.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano has heard Green’s name come up as a possible trade target of the receiver-needy Packers.
The Arizona Cardinals appear to have moved on from veteran receiver A.J. Green. He was active for the team’s 42-34 win last week on Thursday and did not log a single snap. They have a crowded receiver room now with DeAndre Hopkins, Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch and newly acquired Robbie Anderson, and that is without Marquise Brown, who will return from a foot injury in a few weeks.
With the trade deadline coming up next week, Green’s name has come up as a possible candidate for the Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
The Packers have struggled at receiver and could use a veteran presence like Green, who had more than 800 receiving yards last season.
We already identified Green as one possible player that might make sense for the Cardinals to trade.
Green would not fetch much in a trade. At best, the Cardinals could pick up maybe a seventh-round pick this year or maybe recoup the sixth-round pick in 2024 they gave up to acquire Anderson from the Panthers.
Green only has 10 receptions for 56 yards this season and has a pair of drops. He has had a wonderful career but if Green Bay is looking for more production from its receivers, he seems like an odd candidate.
That said, if the Cardinals could get the rest of his $3.5 million salary off the books and offset what they gave up for Anderson, why wouldn’t they do it?
ESPN pointed to veteran WR A.J. Green as a possible trade target for the Packers as the deadline approaches.
The Green Bay Packers need a wide receiver. A.J. Green might need a change of scenery.
Could this be a trade match for the Packers and Green?
Dan Graziano of ESPN pointed to Green as an “interesting name” he’s heard for the Packers with the NFL’s trade deadline approaching.
The good: Green caught 54 passes for 838 yards and three scores while averaging 9.2 yards per target last season in Arizona.
The bad: Green is averaging 5.6 yards per catch and 2.5 yards per target (with two drops) on 22 targets this season.
The very bad: Green is now 34 years old and averaging 0.34 yards per route run in 2022. He has 56 yards on 164 routes run. He might be cooked.
The Packers recently put Randall Cobb on injured reserve, Allen Lazard has a new shoulder injury and rookie Christian Watson is recovering from another hamstring injury, so there’s a real depth and talent issue at receiver for the Packers entering Week 8.
Could Green get back to 2021 levels with a new opportunity in Green Bay? Or has Father Time caught up to him?
The Packers are 3-4 and need help on offense, especially at receiver, but trading draft capital for a 34-year-old who has struggled mightily this season is a big reach.
As the Browns sit at 2-5, they must begin to think about offloading talent to recoup lost draft picks.
After a loss to the Baltimore Ravens yesterday, the Cleveland Browns have dropped to 2-5 on the season. With backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett under center for four more games as well, there is no telling just how many wins they can stack up over the next month.
This is why the Browns have to consider recouping some of the draft picks they packaged away this summer when they mortgaged their future on a franchise quarterback. From underachievers who have packed it in, to expiring contracts, some players could be traded by the Browns before the trade deadline at 4 PM EST on November 1.
For the first time in Green’s 12-year career, he was active for a game and did not log a single snap.
The Arizona Cardinals made some adjustments to their lineup in Week 7, attempting to jumpstart what has been a disappointing start to this season. Perhaps the most notable adjustment was at wide receiver.
For the first time in his NFL career, he did not appear in a game in which he was active and dressed for.
We didn’t even have to wait for the official snap counts to come out. The game book that is released minutes after the conclusion of the Cardinals’ 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints Thursday night indicated that three active players for the Cardinals did not play. Two were quarterbacks Colt McCoy and Trace McSorley. The other was Green.
In his entire career, which began in 2011, he had never been active for a game and not played. He had been inactive, on injured reserve and, last year, on the COVID list to miss games, but it was the first time he had ever dressed for a game and not played a single snap.
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said “it just worked out that way” after the game.
“After acquiring Robbie (Anderson), we wanted to get him out there some and get Rondale (Moore) on the field.,” he said.
Green had not produced much through the first six games of 2022. On the season, he has 10 receptions for 56 yards.
His playing time and usage with the return of DeAndre Hopkins from suspension and at the acquisition of Anderson will be something to pay attention to the rest of the way this season.
