Sights and sounds from the final day of training camp at The Greenbrier

The defense out performed the offense in the final practice at the Greenbrier

It was an eventful last day in West Virginia for the Cleveland Browns as a couple of fights broke out during practice. The most notable was a scuffle between pass rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo and tackle James Hudson that ended in Hudson throwing a punch after Okoronkwo had smacked him and ran away.

It was the defense’s turn to have an impressive day overall as they won the day Sunday. That’s not to say the offense didn’t make some plays as Watson threaded the needle on a throw to David Njoku downfield. But the pass rush was taking care of business against the offensive line that would’ve resulted in multiple sacks in a regular game.

Let’s take a look at the sights and sounds of the final Greenbrier practice.

66 days until Browns season opener: 5 players to wear 66 in Cleveland

Only a little over two months remain before week one

Time marches on and it is getting hard to believe that Cleveland Browns football will be here in just 66 days. That means we are James Hudson number of days away from football. On top of that training camp is barely two weeks away though the first week won’t be in Berea and will be closed to the public. The long dry period will be over before we know it.

In total, there have been 17 different players to wear the number 66 for the Browns with the first Lou Saban in 1946. For the past couple of seasons, offensive tackle James Hudson has worn the number. Here’s a look at five different players that have dawned the jersey in Cleveland during the regular season.

3 positional battles to watch as we wait for training camp

The first team is all but filled out, but what position battles are worth monitoring?

We are still about a month out from the Cleveland Browns returning to Berea for training camp. And for the most part, it should be a rather uninteresting one in terms of positional battles at key positions in 2023 after general manager Andrew Berry remained aggressive this offseason to add talent at needed spots on the depth chart.

However, there are a few depth positions that could provide a bit of intrigue when camp arrives to keep an eye on. Here are three battles worth monitoring when the Browns get back in the building later next month.

Browns: 3 players who will lose their roles in 2023

Who has lost the most from the moves the Browns have made this offseason?

After adding seven new faces to their roster via the 2023 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns will have roles that are taken from established players. They have even added some late depth to their roster after the draft as well, like safety Rodney McLeod.

They opted not to re-sign a handful of players including defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and running back Kareem Hunt, but there are active players on their roster who may have their snaps usurped by younger players with more potential. Here are three players whose snaps are in the most danger after new faces have joined the roster.

Browns vs. Steelers: 3 matchups to watch in Week 18 divisional bout

Here are three matchups that could define the game tomorrow.

The Cleveland Browns are looking to end the season on a 5-2 run, and with back-to-back wins for the second time this season. They also have the opportunity to spoil the playoff hopes of the Pittsburgh Steelers, just as they did to the Washington Commanders a week ago.

Divisional matchups are always tougher, so the Browns will have their work cut out for them. Jadeveon Clowney has already been ruled out after his tantrum this week, so the Browns will be down a defensive starter as well.

As the Browns travel to Pittsburgh, what three matchups could define this Week 18 showdown between division rivals?

Browns Injury report: Jedrick Wills misses second practice, James Hudson could start vs. Commanders

The Browns are trending toward a week without Jedrick Wills

The second injury report of the week has come out for the Cleveland Browns as they prepare for the Washington Commanders. On paper, they should be in line for their seventh win of the season, but the game is not played on paper as they still have to go out and take care of business in D.C. They may, however, be without their starting left tackle as Jedrick Wills has missed his second practice in as many days. If he cannot go, second-year player James Hudson would be in line for the start for the Browns.

Here is the full list of players who missed practice or were limited Thursday for the Browns.

Week 14 Injury Report: Amari Cooper only player with injury designation vs. Bengals

How healthy are the Browns going into their Week 14 matchup against the Bengals?

The Cleveland Browns are now just two days away from making a trip down I-71 South to take on their AFC North rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals. If the Browns beat the Bengals, it would make the sixth straight win over their in-state rivals, as head coach Kevin Stefanski has never lost to them. The Browns are relatively healthy going into this Week 14 matchup as well, as wide receiver Amari Cooper is the only player listed with an injury designation with a hip injury suffered in the win over the Houston Texans.

Who else showed up on Friday’s injury report? We take a look here.

Week 14 Injury Report: Browns missing 3 from Thursday’s practice

As the Browns look to make it three straight wins this season against the Bengals, they are getting healthy just in time.

The Cleveland Browns are looking for three wins in a row as they travel south down I-71 to take on the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. With a win at Paycor Stadium, the Browns will have swept the Bengals each year under head coach Kevin Stefanski. Needing to get healthy before they take the field against their division rivals, however, the Browns were still without three in Thursday’s practice.

However, with one player sitting out on a scheduled day of rest, only two did not see the field due to an ailment. Here is each player who was listed on the injury report and their practice status from today.

Browns Injury Report: 3 miss practice with injuries, a handful limited as Bengals approach

The Browns were missing a few key contributors from practice on Wednesday

The Cleveland Browns are looking to win their third game win in a row after a win over the Houston Texans as the Cincinnati Bengals are next on the schedule. With a win over the Bengals, the Browns will have swept Cincinnati three seasons in a row under head coach Kevin Stefanski. They do, however, have a pretty long list of players working through injuries at Wednesday’s practice as eight players did not participate.

While a handful of veterans sat out on the day with scheduled rest, there were a plethora who sat out with an injury or were limited in practice. Here is every player that appeared on Cleveland’s injury list on Wednesday.

Browns News: Jack Conklin will not play, James Hudson gets another start

Jack Conklin will continue to ease his way back in as James Hudson gets the start for the Browns

James Hudson will be making his second start on the year at right tackle as Jack Conklin continues to ease back onto the field from a season-ending knee injury a year ago. This is not all bad news for the Cleveland Browns, however, as Hudson played a high-quality game against the Carolina Panthers a week ago.

If Hudson continues to play well, he may work the Browns into a good problem where they may have to begin reaching out to other tackle-needy teams to see what they would pay for Conklin. The Browns’ offensive line depth continues to be a bright spot on their roster as they are not sweating bullets over the absence of the two-time All-Pro right tackle in Conklin.

Going against the likes of Carl Lawson, John Franklin-Myers, and first round rookie Jermaine Johnson, Hudson has a chance to potentially outright snatch the right tackle job for the Browns while Conklin continues to recover. The Browns should have their way with the New York Jets today, and trench play will go a long way in ensuring that.
