2025 4-Star TE Davon Mitchell lists Alabama in top-11

Davon Mitchell listed Alabama as a potential landing spot. The 2025 tight end is the No. 1 tight end in the recruiting cycle.

Alabama was listed as a finalist to land 2025 tight end Davon Mitchell. Mitchell released his top-11 on Friday via Twitter.

Mitchell plays for Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California. He is rated as the No. 1 tight end in the nation in the 2025 recruiting class.

He previously played for Allen High School which is one of the more prominent high schools in the country.

When asked by On3’s Chad Simmons on why he listed Alabama as a finalist, here is what he had to say:

“Alabama’s like home. That’s where I’m from. I always grew up watching them and I know that they use their tight ends good. Their tight ends had a good season too. I went to watch them at the Iron Bowl, so I was impressed with what I saw.”

Offensive tackle Micah Debose of the 2025 class is verbally committed to Georgia but recently received an offer from Alabama. Debose has been committed to the Bulldogs since January.

The Mobile native stands at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, according to 247Sports. He flashes the strength and blocking ability to be a staple at tackle at the next level.

Debose is scheduled to visit Alabama on March 4 for Alabama’s Junior Day. He has also taken visits to Ole Miss, Georgia, and Alabama State up to this point.

With Georgia’s recent surge of success, it will not be easy to flip Debose’s commitment. However, the Alabama coaching staff will have plenty of time to try and flip his commitment.

Oklahoma offers one of North Carolina’s best in 2025 defensive end Bryce Davis

The Oklahoma Sooners recently offered EDGE Bryce Davis, a highly regarded prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Oklahoma’s renewed recruiting focus in the southeast is tied to Brent Venables’ time at Clemson. While at Clemson, Venables and the rest of the defensive staff dominated recruiting in the Carolinas by landing some of the best defenders in those states. They went on to win national championships with some North Carolina-bred defenders playing key roles.

With the relationships built and the reputation they have amongst North Carolina high schools, it should come as no surprise that Oklahoma is circling one of NC’s best high school programs for talent.

Grimsley High School is one of the state’s best programs and is loaded with Power Five players.

One rising junior stands out as he looks destined to be a national recruit; Defensive end Bryce Davis. Davis recently received an offer from Oklahoma and is beginning to see his recruitment take off after a stellar sophomore season. In 2022, he recorded 92 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, 27 hurries, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two blocked kicks.

He teamed with four-star Georgia early enrollee Jamaal Jarrett to anchor one of the state’s best defenses.

While Davis still has two more years of high school remaining, his ascension in the recruiting world is impressive. He doesn’t show up on many recruiting rankings like much of the 2025 class. However, based on his offer list alone, it’s a good bet that he’ll end up as a four or five-star prospect when his initial evaluations come out.

When speaking with Bryce about his Oklahoma offer, he said the staff he spoke with “seemed really genuine and straight up and that’s very important for me. So I’m looking forward to building the relationship and seeing where it goes from there.”

Venables coached former Clemson Tiger turned Cincinnati Pro Bowl nose tackle DJ Reader, who also went to Grimsley. There are connections aplenty for Oklahoma to use in pursuit of the 2025 star.

Davis currently has no leader yet, as the influx of offers this winter has taken his recruitment to another level. He’s just beginning to mull the possibilities. Georgia offered in the fall and offers from notable programs like Alabama, Florida State, Penn State, and Tennessee have trickled in since the season ended.

While it’s unlikely to see any movement in the near future, it’ll be interesting to see how this recruitment moves forward. The Oklahoma Sooners coaching staff wants to be a formidable recruiting presence in the region, especially with their impending move to the SEC in July of 2024.

Recruiting services have hardly evaluated them enough to rank them all just yet. These players have already received Power Five offers and look to be premier players who will eventually be significant prospects come their senior year.

We’ve taken the liberty to take a brief look at these 2025 and 2026 offers and offer a bit of insight about each.

It will be interesting to see if Alabama can keep one of the nation’s best edge rushers close to home.

On Saturday, the Alabama coaching staff offered in-state, 2025 quarterback KJ Lacey. Lacey is a high school teammate of current Alabama commit Ryan Williams.

As for Lacey, he has not yet received the recognition that Williams has. However, he has proven to be one of the more elite quarterbacks in the country. Last season, he led the Saraland Trojans to a state championship victory over 6A powerhouse Mountain Brook. It was the program’s first-ever state championship.

Lacey and Williams led the way on their historic run during the 2022 season. Lacey threw for 3,177 passing yards and 40 passing touchdowns. Those are pretty remarkable numbers for an underclassman playing at such a high level.

He is the second quarterback that Alabama has offered in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The other is four-star quarterback Cutter Boley.

2024 DB Ify Obidegwu receives lands offer from Crimson Tide

Alabama offered St. Frances Academy’s Ify Obidegwu, who currently holds over 20 offers from various schools around the country.

Alabama has still been actively recruiting despite losing both their coordinators this offseason. Recently, the coaching staff extended a slew of offers to future high school targets. One of those that received an offer from the Tide was 2024 defensive back Ify Obidegwu.

Obidegwu plays for St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland. Several players in the past that have come from that particular school are Chris Braswell, Darrian Dalcourt, and Eyabi Okie.

Alabama has made it a priority to recruit in the D.C. area in recent years. Their emphasis has proved to pay off. Obidegwu currently has over 20 offers and is still a junior. At this time, Maryland leads in his recruitment, according to On3’s RPM. It will not be easy to pry him away from Mike Locksley and the Terrapins. However, Alabama has plenty of time to emerge as a contender in his recruitment.
