Where Oregon stands in 2023 recruiting rankings after big-time OL addition

The Ducks picked up two massive commitments on Monday. While only one counts towards the 2023 national rankings, let’s take a look at where Oregon stands.

Monday was a big day for the Oregon Ducks as far as recruiting goes, which make sense after the big weekend in Eugene highlighted by a statement win over the UCLA Bruins on Saturday.

On Monday afternoon, Dan Lanning and the Ducks received a commitment from four-star Iapani Laloulu, the No. 18 inside offensive lineman and No. 310 overall player in the class. A few hours before that, Oregon gained a commitment from four-star tight end AJ Pugliano, the No. 1 player in the state of Oregon and the No. 5 TE nationally in the 2024 class.

While only one of those additions counts toward the national recruiting rankings we are about to go over, it was still a banner day for the Ducks who are reaping the rewards of tough work and on-field success.

So where do the Ducks now stand in the 247Sports 2023 national rankings? Let’s take a look:

Texas’ 2023 recruiting class jumps four spots after Dylan Spencer’s commitment

Texas’ 2023 recruiting class is trending upwards with only two commits up to this point.

The Longhorns are in the process of building up their 2023 recruiting class, which is still in its infancy.

Prior to the commitment of four-star defensive lineman Dylan Spencer on Tuesday, Texas previously held just one commit in their 2023 class, four-star defensive back Jamel Johnson.

There are plenty of murmurs around some of the top players in the class leaning towards Texas, such as No. 1 overall prospect Arch Manning and five-star running back Rueben Owens.

If Steve Sarkisian and his staff can string together a better season on the field in 2022, Texas may end up being one of the hot spots for top recruits to play college football. It’s something we have started to see glimpses of this past year even with the program struggling, largely in part due to the new coaching staff.

Texas’ 2023 cycle is starting off strong, as even with only two commits they are ranked as the No. 25 class in 247Sports’ recruiting class rankings. This is up four spots from their previous No. 29 ranking. The quality is clearly strong within the group up to this point.

The Longhorns are in a much better situation this season thanks to all the talent they added during the offseason, headlined by quarterback Quinn Ewers. Therefore convincing top tier talent to suit up in the burnt orange in the near future should not be as daunting of a task.

Where Texas’ top 2023 targets land after 247Sports update rankings

It’s never too early to look ahead at the 2023 class. Here are UT’s top junior targets and where the 247Sports rating update placed them.

Despite being in the midst of the 2022 recruiting class, it is never too early to look ahead at the rising juniors. Once again, it is a loaded class within the state of Texas, with 18 players ranked inside the top 100 on the 247Sports composite.

As for the 247Sports rankings themselves, the lead recruiting website updated where players stand on Wednesday morning. Texas’ lone commit, running back Rueben Owens, fell 11 spots but remained the No. 2 running back in the country.

Plenty of other Texas targets were included in the update, headlined by quarterback Arch Manning. Rivals named the son of Cooper a five-star on Monday. On Wednesday, Manning was named the No. 1 quarterback in the country by 247Sports.
