Throwback Thursday: Insane stat line reveals what kept Alabama-Texas A&M close in 2022

It’s a wonder that Alabama was able to come away with a victory over Texas A&M in 2022

Everyone remembers that Alabama starting quarterback [autotag]Jalen Milroe[/autotag] received his first career start last season against Texas A&M as Bryce Young was healing up from a shoulder injury.

Fast forward to the present and Milroe is now set to make the sixth start of his career and second against the Aggies on Saturday afternoon from Kyle Field in College Station.

Last year’s matchup was a strange one. Not only was Milroe making his first career start, but Texas A&M was reeling and was honestly just flat-out bad in 2022. Nevertheless, the Aggies kept it close and even had an opportunity to win it on the last play of the game despite Alabama being the much better team.

This insane stat line below basically tells the story of what all went wrong for the Crimson Tide that allowed the Aggies to stay in it.

While Alabama was able to escape with a victory last season, there is no doubt that repeating that stat line this weekend would lead to a loss against the Aggies.

Alabama football countdown to kickoff: 44 days

We are just 44 days away from the start of Alabama’s 2023 football season!

The Alabama Crimson Tide will take the field for the 2023 college football season in 44 days, as Middle Tennessee State visits Bryant Denny Stadium on Sept. 2.

Here at Roll Tide Wire, we will be counting down the days until Nick Saban and his team take the field.

Today, with just 44 days remaining until kickoff, we will take a look at redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Damon Payne Jr. who currently wears No. 44 for the Crimson Tide.

Payne saw his playing time increase towards the second half of the 2022 season and should see his role increase once again in 2023.

Payne totaled seven tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss in 2022.

Alabama football countdown to kickoff: 62 days

We are now just Terrence Cody days away from the start of Alabama’s 2023 football season.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will take the field for the 2023 college football season in 62 days, as Middle Tennessee State visits Bryant Denny Stadium on Sept. 2.

Here at Roll Tide Wire, we will be counting down the days until [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and his team take the field.

Today, with just 62 days remaining, we will take a look at one of the most popular players of the Coach Saban era, former Alabama defensive lineman [autotag]Terrence Cody[/autotag].

Cody was a mountain of a man in the middle of Alabama’s 3-4 defense during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. He would help guide a stingy Alabama defense in 2009 and would be a part of coach Saban’s first national championship with the Crimson Tide.

Ranking Alabama football’s 2023 opponents by helmets

Ranking Alabama’s 2023 opponents by their helmets!

It seems like the college football offseason lasts forever. Despite feeling adrift without Alabama football, don’t get too dejected, the Crimson Tide will be back on the gridiron in just 111 days when they take on Middle Tennessee State on Sept. 2 inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

As we do our best to soak up the summer and manage our college football withdrawals, it’s a great time to look at each of Alabama’s 2023 opponents.

There are always conventional ways to look at opponents, whether it’s players, coaches, or schemes, but there is also nothing wrong with having a little fun and looking at each opponent in a different way.

With that being said, I thought it might be interesting to rank each of Alabma’s 2023 opponents by their respective helmets!

Let’s roll!
