The music has stopped on the 2021 NHL trade deadline and the players have found their respective chairs. Monday’s trade deadline was not at all an exciting one in the NHL this year, for reasons varying from the flat salary cap to the upcoming expansion draft.

Though deadline day was underwhelming, the last few weeks as a whole have seen some interesting shuffling between the teams as organizations prepare for playoff runs or look toward the upcoming draft.

As such, it’s time to find out which NHL teams were the winners of trade deadline day and which wished they could have gotten another crack at the whole ordeal.

The 2021 NHL trade deadline has passed and it was… well it was certainly a day! In total, 17 deals were made on deadline day itself, a very slow moving morning and afternoon after the majority of the trades were made over the weekend or in the early morning hours on Monday.

It was as many suspected it would be, a slow deadline day with teams mostly unable to make major splashes thanks to the flat cap and the impending expansion draft for Seattle in the upcoming summer.
