2021 NFL Draft: Pre-Draft

The whole 2021 NFL draft thing was hijacked by Aaron Rodgers. Apparently he wants to get paid a whole lot more for a whole lot longer, he’s throwing a fit, and now he wants out of Green Bay … for now. So for every team other than Jacksonville that’s looking to draft a top quarterback prospect, the game has just changed.

How hilarious would it be if the Packers traded Rodgers and then FINALLY took a wide receiver in the first round?

Rodgers probably isn’t going anywhere, but you’re not doing your job if you’re the Jets, Niners, Lions, Panthers, Giants, Eagles, Vikings, Patriots, Raiders, Football Team, Bears, Titans, Steelers, Saints, and yeah, Packers, if you’re not seeing what it might take to get the reigning MVP – besides the $150 million for 4 years.

By the way, to everyone on social media trying to get San Francisco to trade the third overall pick to right the wrong of 2005, here’s your fun fact of fun facts – no quarterback selected with the third overall pick has ever won a Super Bowl. The Niners are going to take Mac Jones (probably). They’re not getting Rodgers.

Meanwhile, from the Department of Fine, Whatever … Tim Tebow might play tight end for Jacksonville. Fine. Whatever.

This whole NFL Draft thing should be held in a bar.

Okay, draft stuff. Before this all gets started, I believe 1) Justin Fields sliding will be the big story. 2) It doesn’t matter. Eight of the top nine passers in 2020 were selected after the 5, and 3) Elway, Aikman, Manning, Manning. Those are the only QBs taken in the top nine since 1983 who won a Super Bowl for the team that drafted them or traded for the pick.

It’s this simple. If you’re good, you’ll play. If you’re not, you won’t. Don’t get into a twist about draft position.

Let’s have some fun. Welcome to the 2021 NFL Draft.

Full 2021 NFL draft order

Check out the official updated pick order for all seven rounds of the 2021 NFL draft

After a few last-minute tweaks, the NFL has officially announced the full seven-round pick order for the 2021 NFL draft.

From No 1. overall all the way to the future Mr. Irrelevant, here’s every selection in this year’s draft, as things currently stand:

2021 NFL draft order: Official list of Tennessee Titans picks

The Tennessee Titans have a total of nine selections in the 2021 NFL draft.

After sorting through everything, the league has finally released the official 2021 NFL draft order — and with it we now know the exact picks the Tennessee Titans will have.

The full draft order can be found here. The Titans have a grand total of nine picks, with at least one selection in each round, and a pair of picks in the third and sixth rounds.

Here’s the full slate:

Round 1: Pick No. 22

Round 2: Pick No. 53

Round 3: Pick No. 85

Round 3: Pick No. 100 (compensatory)

Round 4: Pick No. 126

Round 5: Pick No. 166

Round 6: Pick No. 205

Round 6: Pick No. 215 (via Chiefs)

Round 7: Pick No. 232 (via Dolphins)

Tennessee receives an extra third-round pick this year from the compensatory formula after right tackle Jack Conklin signed with the Cleveland Browns last offseason.

The Titans acquired their extra sixth-round pick during the 2020 NFL draft when they traded their seventh-round selection to the Kansas City Chiefs.

As for the extra seventh-round pick, that was obtained through the trade with the Miami Dolphins that sent 2020 first-round pick and offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson packing, along with a 2022 seventh-round pick. It was originally owned by the Atlanta Falcons.

After a lackluster draft last year, and with the team having significant needs, general manager Jon Robinson will have some extra pressure on him this time around to get it right.

Updated 2021 NFL draft: Jets clinch top 2 pick with Bengals win

The Jets clinched a top two pick in the 2021 NFL draft after the Bengals defeated the Steelers.

No matter how the Jets finish out the regular season, they’ll have a top two in the 2021 NFL draft.

With the Bengals beating the Steelers on Monday Night Football, the Jets are guaranteed to either have the No. 1 pick in the draft or the No. 2 pick. Currently, the Jets have the No. 2 pick after their stunning 23-20 win over the Rams on Sunday.

Jacksonville lost its game to Baltimore, so it fell to 1-13 and now has control of the top pick in next year’s draft. Even though both the Jets and Jaguars have 1-13 records, the Jaguars hold the strength of schedule tiebreaker over the Jets. Jacksonville’s strength of schedule is lower than New York’s, meaning it has the same record against a worse set of teams than New York.

Both the Jets and Jaguars have two games left in their seasons. The Jets play the Browns and Patriots, while the Jaguars face the Bears and Colts. A Jaguars win would go a long way in helping the Jets regain the top pick in the draft. That is if the Jets lose their two remaining games in addition to the Jaguars winning a game.

Let’s take a look at where the first-round draft order stands after Week 15.

1.  Jacksonville Jaguars (1-13)

2. New York Jets (1-13)

3. Cincinnati Bengals (3-10-1)

4. Carolina Panthers (4-10)

5. Atlanta Falcons (4-10)
