Joshua Primo selected by Phoenix Suns in latest 2021 NBA mock draft

Primo to the Western Conference champs in this mock draft!

Former Alabama guard, Josh Primo, was a difference-maker in his true-freshman season with the Crimson Tide. He is currently preparing for the NBA draft and will not be returning to the collegiate level

The Canada native averaged 43% from the field and over eight points per game.

Primo is one of the youngest players in this 2021 NBA draft class, but that hasn’t seemed to hinder his draft stock.

Bleacher Report’s latest NBA mock draft projects Primo to be drafted No. 29 overall by the Western Conference Champions, the Phoenix Suns.

“Primo’s jumper looks rotation-ready, and he seems like he could chip in with secondary distributing,” writes Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley. “He can help right now, but he’s also a long-term investment with his 19th birthday not coming until December.”

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Primo with the 2021 NBA draft just days away.

Where does Austin Reaves land in the Rookie Wire’s latest mock draft?

With the NBA Draft just weeks away, The Rookie Wire projected both rounds. Where does Oklahoma’s Austin Reaves land?

Austin Reaves had a breakout year in the 2020-2021 basketball season for the Oklahoma Sooners. After transferring in from Wichita State, the spot-shooter showed off a well-rounded game, helping the Oklahoma Sooners make it to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.

For the Sooners last year, Reaves averaged  18.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 44% from the field.

Reaves showed an adept ability to get into the paint and finish around the basket. When he couldn’t finish, he did an excellent job of drawing contact and getting to the free-throw line.

He was a strong pick and roll player with Sooners big men and at the end of this month could find himself playing with one of the best bigs in the NBA if the latest mock draft from The Rookie Wire holds true.

In The Rookie Wire’s latest NBA mock draft, Cody Taylor had Austin Reaves going number 53 overall to the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Pelicans are led at the point guard position by Lonzo Ball and have Eric Bledsoe at shooting guard.

Reaves may not project as a starter in the NBA right away, but with his size, ball-handling, and shooting abilities, he should be able to work into a rotation at some point in his career.

Though he’s being projected as a late second round pick, it’s certainly possible that he could be taken higher. Though he isn’t the same level of player, Reaves reminds of a Luka Doncic type.

A good ball handler who understands how to use his body and ball-handling ability to get into the paint. Reaves isn’t quite the passer that Doncic is and doesn’t have the same size, but neither is gifted athletically. Instead they use their high basketball I.Q. to fond ways to score and get their teammates involved.

A team that is willing to look past some of his athletic deficiencies, they’ll get a nice player in Austin Reaves.

Herbert Jones selected by Eastern Conference team in latest NBA mock draft

Alabama defensive star Herbert Jones is projected to be drafted by an Eastern Conference team in the latest USA TODAY 2021 NBA mock draft.

Alabama men’s basketball is one of the hottest teams in the nation with a 17-5 overall record and 12-1 in conference play.

It’s likely that the Crimson Tide will be the No. 1 seed in the SEC tournament, and a highly-seeded team in the NCAA tournament.

With all of the national attention, some players have received a spotlight, allowing fans from across the country to watch them play, as well as NBA front offices.

In the latest USA TODAY 2021 NBA mock draft, only one Alabama player is drafted: defensive star Herbert Jones.

The mock draft has Jones being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 38 overall selection. While no reason is listed, it’s clearly due to his defensive strength.

While it’s great to see Jones’ name on the board, there’s a bit of shock about not seeing John Petty in the mock draft.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to publish updates on where Alabama stars fall in NBA mock drafts leading up to draft night on Nov. 18.

Aaron Henry listed as 1st round pick in latest For The Win 2021 NBA Mock Draft

It appears Aaron Henry made the right decision to come back to Michigan State for another season.

[jwplayer ToMWO6Jz]

Forward Aaron Henry considered leaving MSU after his sophomore season, but ultimately elected to come back for his junior year. So far that has turned out to be a great decision for him, and one mock draft has already taken notice of his improved game.

Bryan Kalbrosky of For The Win has Henry going No. 22 overall to the Philadelphia 76ers in his latest 2021 NBA Mock Draft that was published on Wednesday.

Here’s a portion of what Kalbrosky had to say about Henry:

“He looks to have gained significant size and confidence, clearly emerging as a team leader under coach Tom Izzo. Thus far, he has stepped it up as a defender, recording 4 blocks during a victory over Notre Dame.”

Click here to see all of what Kalbrosky had to say about Henry and the rest of his mock draft.

Henry is doing it all for the Spartans through the first five games this season. He’s averaging 11.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 2 blocks per game.

Henry was the only Spartan listed in this mock draft, but don’t be surprised if we see some other guys get some NBA love should MSU continue to play well this year.
