How Ravens fared in the 2020 Pro Bowl

The Baltimore Ravens made up a large chunk of the 2020 Pro Bowl roster but how did they actually perform during the game?

The 2020 NFL Pro Bowl might as well have been another postseason game for the Baltimore Ravens considering they made up a large portion of the roster. Sending 12 players (cornerback Marcus Peters backed out of the game with an injury) to the Pro Bowl, there were plenty of opportunities for Ravens players to shine, even amongst the best the NFL has to offer.

And shine they did. Baltimore players led the charge on offense, posting up the most rushing yards, best passing stats and bet receiving performance of the Pro Bowl.

At the very tippy-top of the list is quarterback Lamar Jackson, who won the Pro Bowl offensive MVP award after completing 16-of-23 attempts (69.6%) for 185 yards, two passing touchdowns and one interception for a 104.4 passer rating. Check out highlights of Jackson’s performance in the game.

Running back Mark Ingram led all players in both rushing attempts and yards, posting up 31 rushing yards on five attempts for a 6.2 yard-per-carry average. Tight end Mark Andrews led all receivers in receptions, snagging nine passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.

But don’t forget the defensive stars the Ravens had on the Pro Bowl roster as well. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey led the AFC with three tackles and had a pass defended. Safety Earl Thomas had two tackles, one quarterback hit, two passes defended and an interception which he returned for 41 yards. While outside linebacker Matthew Judon might not have been able to get to the quarterback in this one, he still posted one tackle.

Kicker Justin Tucker had himself a perfect game, nailing all five of his extra points while kicking a 50-yard field goal.

Ultimately, all of Baltimore’s help notched a 38-33 win for coach John Harbaugh and the AFC over the NFC in the 2020 Pro Bowl.

Bucs LB Shaq Barrett is ready for the Pro Bowl in Orlando

See what Shaq Barrett posted on his Instagram account today as he prepares for the Pro Bowl in Orlando this week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaq Barrett may not be heading to the Super Bowl in Miami, but he’s ready to suit up for the Pro Bowl this week in Orlando.

The Second-Team All-Pro who led the NFL in sacks this season with 19.5, and also set the Bucs’ single-season franchise record, is likely going to get a big contract from the Buccaneers this offseason, so being a part of the Pro Bowl is really just icing on the cake.

Barrett took to Instagram today to announce his arrival in Orlando. Take a look.

Steelers Joe Haden replacing Ravens Marcus Peters in 2020 Pro Bowl

Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters has dropped out of the 2020 Pro Bowl due to injury after a spectacular season with both Baltimore and Rams

The Baltimore Ravens originally placed 12 players on the 2020 Pro Bowl roster, tying an NFL record. The hope was none of them were going to be able to play with Super Bowl LIV being the next weekend. However, with their loss to the Tennessee Titans in the NFL playoffs, Baltimore now suddenly has the time.

You won’t be seeing Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters there though. According to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Peters isn’t going to the Pro Bowl due to injury and will be replaced by Joe Haden.

Peters had a spectacular season on two different teams. Starting the season out with the Los Angeles Rams, Peters started six games and had two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), four passes defended and a fumble recovery. He was then traded to Baltimore for a fifth-round pick and linebacker Kenny Young.

With the Ravens, Peters stepped up his game even further and cemented his Pro Bowl roster spot. In 10 games with Baltimore, Peters had three more interceptions (returning two more for touchdowns) and having 10 passes defended. The addition of Peters was a big reason for the Ravens’ defensive turnaround last season, eventually seeing the unit climb to a fourth-place ranking.

2020 NFL Pro Bowl: Which Ravens should be selected

The Baltimore Ravens sit atop the NFL and with the 2020 Pro Bowl rosters to drop tonight, several players should get recognized for it.

The NFL is set to announce the 2020 Pro Bowl roster later this evening. And with the Baltimore Ravens sitting at 12-2 and leading several respective positions in fan voting, it got me wondering which players should actually make their way into the Pro Bowl this season?

Of course, the ultimate hope is Baltimore has to have all their players turn down the event as they prepare for Super Bowl LIV. But regardless, this is a golden opportunity for many players to get their very first Pro Bowl nod and for some others to continue their streak. So let’s take a look at the 13 Ravens players I believe should be selected to the 2020 Pro Bowl.

A Pro Bowl appears to be nothing more than a formality at this stage. Jackson led every NFL player in fan votes by a wide margin. And given his MVP-caliber season on top of it, Jackson not making the cut would be worthy of a headline all its own.

But just in case anyone is unsure why Jackson should get a Pro Bowl nod, Neil Dutton went through all the Ravens franchise records Jackson has already set. Add to it breaking Michael Vick’s single-season rushing record, leading the league in touchdown passes, TD% and QBR seems like good enough reasons by themselves for Jackson to get his first Pro Bowl nomination.
