Studs and duds from Texas’ 24-21 victory over Iowa State

We saw many great and not-so-great performances from the Longhorns in this matchup.

Steve Sarkisian has his Longhorns building some serious momentum. Texas is winners of three in a row as they edged out Iowa State 24-21 to improve to 5-2 for the 2022 season.

Texas held on to win the back-and-forth battle, capping off the contest by forcing a fumble on Iowa State’s final drive. Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers hit Xavier Worthy for a touchdown on a fourth down and goal that eventually proved to be the game-winner.

It was a bit of a sluggish performance for Texas on both sides of the ball. The Horns let the 16-point underdog Cyclones stick around until the final minute.

Steve Sarkisian was pleased his team came out on top. He believes winning a close call is evidence Texas is headed in the right direction.
