Steve Sarkisian updates injury report at the start of spring practice

A few key Longhorns are nursing injuries to start spring practice.

Texas took the field for the first practice of the spring on Monday.

As the Longhorns enter a key time for development ahead of a critical 2023 season, Steve Sarkisian spoke on a handful of players limited by injuries to start spring practice.

“Steve Sarkisian says Jonathon Brooks, Jalen Catalon, Jaylon Guilbeau, Derion Gullette, Cole Hutson, Maalik Murphy, Isaiah Neyor, and Keilan Robinson will be limited this spring or were limited today.”

The injuries provide some extra reps for the talented young players on the roster. Arch Manning, Johntay Cook and Anthony Hill were those mentioned as standouts on day one.

Getting healthy in a hurry is a priority for the Longhorns. Spring practice is an important time to build a strong foundation and prepare for the new season.

Fans will get a first look at the new Longhorns at the Orange-White spring game on April 15.
