Steve Sarkisian provides an injury update following Saturday’s scrimmage

Steve Sarkisian provided some much-needed good news about the health of his team during his Monday press conference.

Texas has been hit by the injury bug a couple of times during fall camp.

Starting wide receiver Isaiah Neyor and offensive lineman Junior Angilau both suffered a season-ending ACL tear in a scrimmage last week. The news is a big blow to the Longhorns’ offense, which now needs some young guys to step up.

This week’s scrimmage went much smoother from an injury standpoint. Steve Sarkisian provided some much-needed good news about the health of his team during his Monday press conference.

Roschon Johnson and Jahdae Barron are back practicing after missing a week while nursing injuries. Both are expected to play significant snaps during the fall.

The return of Omerie and Hutson is vital from a depth standpoint. Texas’ wide receiver and offensive depth took a huge hit. The Longhorns need to be all hands on deck to replace Neyor and Angilau.

Sarkisian also mentioned freshman offensive lineman Kelvin Banks is set to practice on Tuesday after a minor lower-body injury.
