Social media reacts to Texas head coach Shaka Smart’s full head of hair

Texas men’s basketball head coach Shaka Smart was trending on Twitter after their 78-76 win over Davidson.

Although Texas pulled off an impressive 78-76 win over a talented Davidson squad on Monday, head coach Shaka Smart appeared to be trending on social media for a different reason.

Throughout the majority of his tenure in Austin, Smart has rocked a shaved head with very little hair. He’s surprisingly showing off a new look this season and is currently sporting a full head of black curly hair.

It seemingly distracted many fans at the Maui Invitational on Monday. “I only did it because my daughter and wife asked me to,” Smart said after the win over Davidson.

Fans appear to be torn on whether or not they prefer the new look of the 43-year-old head coach. Smart is in his sixth season with the Longhorns and it’s a pivotal year for him to solidify his future in Austin.
