The Philadelphia 76ers were able to rally and knock off the Atlanta Hawks on Friday and they were hoping to carry that momentum with them to Buzz City for a quick two-game road series with the Charlotte Hornets. The two games with the Hornets are going to wrap up a 4-game road trip for Philadelphia.
After a bit of a slow start, the Sixers were able to get it done on Monday to win a second straight game 127-124 over the Hornets in overtime. With Charlotte so shorthanded, Joel Embiid was absolutely dominant down low and gave the Hornets problems all night on his way to 43 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists to drag Philadelphia to this win.
Tobias Harris had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Shake Milton had 16 points filling in for a sick Tyrese Maxey, Danny Green had nine points, and Seth Curry added six. Isaiah Joe added nine points, Georges Niang had seven, and Furkan Korkmaz had eight off the bench to chip in for this one.
