On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks released former Alabama right guard D.J. Fluker. In the last two seasons for the Seahawks, Fluker started 23 games for them. According to many reports, Fluker’s release has to do with the fact that the Seahawks drafted Damien Lewis from LSU in the third round Friday night.
Fluker took to twitter to announce the news himself, expressing gratitude and appreciation to the Seahawks:
Dear 12s,
I was released by the Seahawks today. Couple of things: I am not upset, or hurt. This is a business and one that I’ve been in for a while. I want to thank John and Pete for their very thoughtful calls.
Stay safe, be kind and I love y’all.
Thank you, Seattle.
