Seahawks injury updates: Geno Smith, Jordyn Brooks, Damien Lewis

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll gave updates on a few minor injuries after his team’s win on Sunday.

The Seahawks have come out relatively unscathed from their last two Hollywood-worthy comeback wins, with only a few minor injuries to keep up on. The team’s two biggest problems right now are both in the secondary. Standout rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon remains sidelined by a “really painful” hip pointer injury, while strong safety Jamal Adams has also missed the last two games with his knee issue. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters last week the team has considered shutting Adams down for the season.

As for the new injuries, on Sunday the Seahawks suffered at least two: Carroll says linebacker Jordyn Brooks re-aggravated an old ankle sprain, while left guard Damien Lewis left with a sore knee. As for quarterback Geno Smith – who sat out the previous two games with a groin issue – there’s nothing new to report.

If Brooks has to miss significant time with his ankle injury, Devin Bush will get what would have been his snaps. Bush played well against the Titans after Brooks went down.

We will learn more when the first injury report of the week comes out tomorrow night.
