Seahawks awarded 3 compensatory picks in NFL draft

The Seattle Seahawks now have 11 picks in the 2020 NFL draft after adding third, fourth and sixth round compensatory picks.

The Seattle Seahawks have been awarded three compensatory picks in the 2020 NFL draft after the final list was announced by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero on Tuesday afternoon.

The Seahawks now have a new third, fourth and sixth round pick in 2020, giving them 11 overall picks and a chance to add significant depth to their roster.

The picks are No. 101, No. 144 and No. 214 overall.

The Seahawks did not receive any comp picks in 2019, but still managed to trade their way into 11 draft picks. Now, with 11 already at their disposal, the team has more flexibility to either trade picks to move up in the draft (if they see someone they want) or to continue their tradition of trading for more picks, potentially collecting as many as 15 new players via the draft.

The last time Seattle had comp picks was 2017, when they used two third round selections on defensive tackle Nazair Jones and wide receiver Amara Darboh.

Joey Hunt, a sixth rounder in 2016, was also a compensatory pick selection.

The Seahawks have roughly six weeks until the NFL draft, and with 11 picks in tow they have plenty of work to do to put together the best possible roster before the start of the 2020 season.
