Brandon Peters should start, but beware of Coran Taylor and Isiah Williams

Brandon Peters was a transfer from Michigan and as Lovie has referred to him in press conferences is “Starting Quarterback.” Peters has a decent arm and when he is on he can make a ton of throws. However, the issue is Peters isn’t always “on” for very long. He can get inaccurate and make some questionable throws. He has some awkward footwork at times and it causes some misguided passes.
Coran Taylor offers a little more in terms of gunslinging as a quarterback. His mechanics are also a little off, as he tends to lean back while throwing instead of driving forward. When Taylor sees the field he is willing to take some chances, sometimes those chances end up as an interception, but he isn’t afraid to throw the ball around.
Williams is the quarterback that could cause a different matchup issue. He’s not a guy who will throw the ball around, but he must be accounted for in the running game (not unlike another Isaiah Williams the Illini used to do damage with). He is currently third in rushing yards for the Illini and with the stable of running backs available, it presents some issues.
