It was the sort of moment one dreams about — hitting the clutch shot at the end of regulation in front of a hometown crowd to send the game to overtime. While it would have been sweeter for Sam Hauser had the Boston Celtics beaten the Milwaukee Bucks, it was still a pretty amazing moment.
With family and his fiancee at the game, the Wisconsin native hoisted a last-second trey to send Boston into an extra period, only to see the Celtics fall 131-125.
“The ball got to my hands, and I just tried to get to a spot where I felt comfortable and got it up in time,” explained Hauser of the clutch play via CLNS Media.
“Obviously it went in and forced overtime. It sucks that we lost, but it’s good to play like that in front of a lot of friends and family.”

“I got it and we were down three, and I just tried to find a little bit of space just to get a shot up and get it on the rim and give ourselves a chance, and luckily it went in,” he added.
As for his ability to step into a major role on a night with so many starters out, Hauser said “it’s good for Joe (Mazzulla, interim head coach) knowing that he has a lot of guys that have shown they can play in big games and crucial situations.”
