There’s no doubt that Ryan Day is a happy man tonight. In fact, he’s been a pretty joyous head football coach for the past week and a half or so. The coronavirus may be gripping the world right now, but that hasn’t stopped the recruits from flocking to Ohio State during that time. In fact, five players have pledged their services to the Buckeyes since March 15.
The latest of those is arguably the biggest yet, with the announcement of five-star running back TreVeyon Henderson out of Hopewell, Virginia. He’s the top back in the class according to 247Sports’ own rankings, and should come in and compete right away. Simply put, every coach in the country wanted him, but Ohio State’s the team that landed the potential program-changing prospect.
Head coaches are prohibited from commenting on prospects that have yet to sign a national letter of intent, but that doesn’t mean they can’t react to big-time news. In fact, Ohio State is famously known for tossing out a Boom! when someone commits to the program.
Day did just that sort of thing in a more animated fashion with the news of Henderson coming down tonight. Have a look at the Tweet he sent when the news broke Friday night.

Eat your heart out Jim Harbaugh and Michigan. This is how recruiting is won and why there’s such a gap between the Wolverines and Buckeyes right now. Ohio State is simply on fire shopping for the groceries.
