Report: Texas QB Quinn Ewers likely to return in 2024

Quinn Ewers is expected to return for his junior campaign next season in the SEC.

In a report released by Geoff Ketchum on Monday, there is momentum that Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers will return to Texas in 2024 as the Longhorns play their first season in the SEC.

Additional confirmation was provided on Tuesday by Inside Texas. Ewers is expected to return for his junior campaign. This is positive news for the Longhorns as they will enter the SEC with an experienced quarterback and offensive line.

The 2024 quarterback draft class is already stacked with talented prospects such as Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Michael Penix, and Bo Nix. As a result, it is likely that Ewers will be selected later in the draft.

Missing two games this season due to injury also likely plays into his decision, simply because that now marks the second consecutive season that Ewers has missed multiple games due to injury. If Ewers can improve on his consistency and remain healthy in 2024, he would likely be the No. 1 quarterback prospect for the 2025 NFL draft.

If Ewers does indeed return for another season, Texas will be true title contenders as they start their journey in the gauntlet of SEC programs.
