Report: Texas G Arterio Morris to enter the transfer portal

Arterio Morris is exploring transfer options.

Texas guard Arterio Morris has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The former five-star prospect from the class of 2022 played sparingly in his freshman season for the Longhorns. Morris averaged 4.9 points, averaging just under 12 minutes per game.

Morris played well down the stretch of the season for Texas, showcasing elite athleticism and solid outside shooting.

Texas is now set to lose at least three of their top four guards from a season ago. Marcus Carr and Sir’Jabari Rice are graduating while Tyrese Hunter is testing NBA Draft waters.

Rodney Terry and his staff must look to the transfer portal for help in the backcourt. The Longhorns are in the mix for Rice transfer Quincy Olivari and Oral Roberts transfer Max Abmas.

Morris joins fellow freshman guard Rowan Brumbaugh as Longhorns to enter the transfer portal so far.
