Report: Texas basketball reaches out to Rice transfer Quincy Olivari

Texas basketball has reportedly reached out to Rice transfer Quincy Olivari.

Olivari is one of the more sought-after transfers in the portal so far. Sparking interest from a number of Power Five programs. The former Owls guard averaged 18.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this past season.

Texas got a first-hand look at Olivari’s skillset when he dropped 28 points against the Longhorns back on Dec. 12. He would provide an instant scoring option for a Texas team losing its top scorers.

The transfer portal has been kind to Texas basketball over the past few seasons. The Longhorns have landed key contributors such as Marcus Carr, Timmy Allen, Dylan Disu and numerous others via the portal.

Rodney Terry is tasked with rebuilding Texas’ roster this offseason. Olivari would be a great veteran addition to the Longhorns’ future backcourt.
