Report: Spencer Dinwiddie to come off Nets bench in Detroit

For the first time in a while, Brooklyn’s starting lineup will not feature Spencer Dinwiddie when the Nets take the court in Detroit.

Since Brooklyn’s 12th game of the 2019-20 season — which was on November 16 — Spencer Dinwiddie has been featured in the Nets starting lineup. He has not missed a single game since then, or for the entire season for that matter. Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince are the only players who played in every game for the Nets this season.

Dinwiddie will still be out on the floor Saturday when the Nets play the Pistons in Detroit, but according to Shams Charania of Stadium, he will come off of Brooklyn’s bench for the first time since November 14 — which was the last game Kyrie Irving played in before he was sidelined for 26 consecutive contests due to a right shoulder impingement.

Dinwiddie will be replaced by either Caris LeVert, who was Brooklyn’s starting two-guard at the beginning of the season, or Garrett Temple, who took over for LeVert while he rehabbed from right thumb surgery.
