Report: Nothing transpired from Vikings trade talks for Trent Williams a month ago

“They had conversations a month ago, but nothing transpired from there, so we’ll continue to monitor,” ESPN’s Josina Anderson said.

There have been multiple reports about Trent Williams wanting to leave the Redskins, and a recent one from ESPN’s John Keim that said the Vikings are probably ‘the team to watch’ for the Redskins tackle.

The Vikings could move current tackle Riley Reiff to guard and add Williams, who is considered by many to be one of the top tackles in the NFL.

However, it appears that nothing transpired from the reported talks between the Vikings and Redskins about Williams a month ago, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

Anderson reported that a source told her there is “an opportunity to have something done shortly” in regards to Williams. Anderson was also told that there were “some really good constructive conversations,” and that overall the situation is a positive one.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the team could work out a deal with the Vikings, though. It becomes tricky with the salary cap, and the assets the team might have to give up in the process.
