It has not been a great weekend for undrafted former Michigan State Football players. Cody White, Matt Sokol, Raequan Williams, Mike Panasiuk, and Joe Bachie were all were released over the weekend. However, it looks like at least Bachie will still have employment with his team moving forward.

According to sources of Nick Underhill from NewOrleans.Football, the former Spartans middle linebacker will be signing with the New Orleans Saints practice squad.

Bachie had originally signed with the Saints back in April, but just missed the cut to make the 53-man roster. This is an especially difficult time for undrafted free agents given the absence of preseason games. Bachie is someone who might lack some raw physical abilities that could make him pop in training camp, but I think he would’ve shown his worth in the in-game environment, so I think this really hurt him.

Anyway, it’s good that Bachie still has a home in New Orleans and now he can build towards making that roster in the future.
