Report: Former Panthers CB Captain Munnerlyn arrested in Miami

Report: Former Panthers CB Captain Munnerlyn arrested in Miami for allegedly writing bad checks.

According to a report by Andy Slater, former Panthers cornerback Captain Munnerlyn was arrested at Miami International Airport over a warrant in Las Vegas for allegedly writing bad checks.

Slater followed up with more details, saying he was removed from a flight to Cancun, Mexico. For what it’s worth, Munnerlyn’s attorney says the whole thing is a complete misunderstanding.

Munnerlyn came into the NFL in 2009 as one of Marty Hurney’s rare late-round draft picks that hit. The Panthers picked him in the seventh round of that year’s draft and he played the next five seasons in Carolina, followed by three with the Vikings before returning to the Panthers for 2017-2018.

Munnerlyn spent a part of the spring last year with the Bills, but he was released long before the season began and spent the year as a free agent.

In 154 career games, Munnerlyn has totaled 12 interceptions, 64 pass breakups and 421 solo tackles.
