Report card: Handing out grades for TaylorMade Driving Relief

The TaylorMade Driving Relief skins game provided a chance for the Golfweek Grader to break out the red pen once more before summer begins.

Rickie Fowler: A

Having won the member-pro tournament three times with his former Walker Cup captain, Buddy Marucci, Fowler looked cool and confident right from the start at Seminole. He was never going to outdrive the other three players, but he was the steadiest golfer in the group. Rickie was straight off the tee, dialed in with his wedges and clearly had the best command on the greens.

On a day when birdies meant money for charity, Fowler carded seven, including hole-winning birdies at four, nine, 11 and 12.

In one of the funnier moments of the match, after watching McIlroy barely miss a birdie putt on 11, Fowler drained his putt on a similar line and then waved to acknowledge the crowd that was NOT surrounding the green.

“Did you hear all those cheers,” McIlroy asked.

“I’ve got to press play on my speaker,” Fowler replied.
