Wide receivers/tight ends: C
The Buffalo Bills top three pass catchers, John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Dawson Knox all were rested against the Jets. It was up to the likes of Duke Williams, Isaiah McKenzie, and Tommy Sweeney to step up… and it was a decent performance from the three. Williams was the games leading receiver with 108 yards on six catches.
Williams used his big frame to shield off would be corners in the open field, and displayed some agility to make plays after the catch. His one knock was that he dropped an easy catch that would have resulted in a first down.
Sweeney and McKenzie saw plenty of action throughout the game. Starting with the tight end, Sweeney, he had five catches for 76 yards, an average of 15.2 yards per catch. Sweeney was a reliable target for Barkley in the middle of the field and showed some physicality once he had the ball in his hands.
McKenzie had just two catches for seven yards, but when used as a running back he had two carries for 30 yards. He also needed to step in as a cornerback late in the game, but wasn’t targeted by Jets quarterback Sam Darnold.
