The Buffalo Bills-DeAndre Hopkins buzz has gone quiet over the past few weeks.

Reports have surfaced that Hopkins is taking his time with making a decision. But since Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane said he would never rule out signing Hopkins in early June, there’s been nothing. At least as far as the Bills are concerned.

Hopkins still hasn’t joined a team, but he has taken free agent visits, reportedly with the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots.

There haven’t been any reports of Hopkins visiting with the Bills, and now we might have a reason why. According to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, the Bills want Hopkins but “are not going to pay” for him.

Top dollar is what Darlington is getting at. It appears the Bills are hoping the pursuit of a Super Bowl title is enough incentive for Hopkins to sign in western New York, but as of now, it’s not.

There’s still plenty of time in the offseason for Hopkins or the Bills to change their mind. Training camp does not start until the end of July, but time is ticking.
