2. Mike Gminski

In his third year with the Nets, Gminski saw Dawkins come to New Jersey and take on the starting center role. The Connecticut native still played plenty as a reserve and started for much of the 1984-85 season. The role became his exclusively the next season.
Before he went to Philadelphia in the middle of 1987-88 was averaging what were at the time career bests in points (16.9) and rebounds (9.4) per game.
