Projected NFL contracts of top Longhorns selected in 2020 NFL Draft

Let’s take a look at the projected value and signing bonuses of the top three Longhorns selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Texas had three players selected within the first five rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Safety Brandon Jones was the first Longhorn off of the board, landing with the Miami Dolphins in the third round at No. 70 overall. Also joining Jones in the third round was speedy slot receiver Devin Duvernay, who received a call from the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 92 overall selection.

On Saturday, the Jacksonville Jaguars got an absolute steal by drafting wide receiver Collin Johnson in the fifth round. The big-bodied, talented pass-catcher will be an excellent weapon for young quarterback Gardner Minshew.

Depending on how high or low a player is selected in the draft, the overall value and signing bonus of the rookie contract is impacted. Let’s take an early look at the Longhorns projected contracts in the NFL.

The signing bonus difference between Jones and Johnson is quite drastic, but their production on the field will ultimately determine which of the three receives the most money when it’s all said and done.

If each of these players make an impact with their respective teams while on their rookie deal, these numbers are sure to skyrocket when negotiating their next deal in the league.

This particular trio of Longhorns couldn’t be more deserving of their recent success, as they each have represented Texas with high character and integrity on and off the field.
