Player grades: Shake Milton, Sixers fall to Hornets to begin road trip

Shake Milton and the Philadelphia 76ers come up short to the Charlotte Hornets to begin their 3-game road trip.

After picking up an impressive win at home, the Philadelphia 76ers hit the road on Wednesday to take on the Charlotte Hornets and begin a 3-game road trip. It was the second night of a back-to-back for Philadelphia and considering the injuries they’re dealing with, the Hornets offered a big challenge.

The Hornets were missing LaMelo Ball, and that’s obviously a huge piece missing for Charlotte, but the Sixers missing Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey makes for a tough challenge on the road. The Hornets were able to make enough plays to come away with a 107-101 win.

Once again relying on an all-around effort, Shake Milton had 22 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds, De’Anthony Melton had 20 points, six rebounds, and four steals, Tobias Harris added 19 points, and Montrezl Harrell added 16 and seven rebounds. Paul Reed had six and eight rebounds while Georges Niang added nine points while PJ Tucker had three points and seven rebounds.

Here are the player grades following the tough loss:
