The Philadelphia 76ers were looking to build some momentum at home as they continued the 3-game homestand on Sunday against the rival Toronto Raptors. The Sixers have been a little up and down recently, but after a solid win on Friday, they had a chance to continue to grow as a team.
They were able to build a 16-point lead in the first half as they were able to move the ball and get a good offensive rhythm out there, but the Raptors were able to rally and they ended up taking a 3-point lead at halftime. After a back and forth second half, the Raptors were able to scratch and claw their way to a 93-88 win over the Sixers in Philadelphia despite not having Fred VanVleet. Pascal Siakam led Toronto with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists while Precious Achiuwa had 21 points and nine rebounds.
The Sixers were led by Joel Embiid with 21 points and 13 rebounds, James Harden had 17 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, Tyrese Maxey added 19 points, and Matisse Thybulle had 12. Georges Niang hopped off the bench and had 11 points as well while Tobias Harris had five points, four rebounds, and four assists.
