Player grades: Joel Embiid leads Sixers on big rally past Kings at home

Joel Embiid led the Philadelphia 76ers on a big rally to knock off the Sacramento Kings at home.

The Philadelphia 76ers were looking to continue their recent home success as they welcomed a struggling Sacramento Kings team into the City of Brotherly Love. The Kings had just recently lost by 53 points and then followed that up by trailing by as many as 30 in the next game. This seemed set up to be an easy victory for the Sixers.

However, this is the NBA and there are no such things as easy victories in this league. Despite their recent struggles, the Kings came out with a ton of energy and they built a 17-point lead in the third quarter. However, Joel Embiid kicked it into high gear as he went off in the third quarter–he scored 17 points in the frame–to help the Sixers rally and knock off Sacramento 103-101.

Embiid finished with 36 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists, Tobias Harris added 16 points and eight rebounds, Tyrese Maxey had 13 points and seven assists, and Seth Curry had eight and five assists in his return. Matisse Thybulle had eight points and Danny Green added 11 off the bench.
