The Philadelphia 76ers have had a lot to deal with over a span of 48 hours as they made a big deal at the deadline to bring James Harden in here. While the team looked a bit out of it on Friday, they were locked in against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.
The Cavs entered the contest as the No. 2 seed in the East and this was an opportunity for Philadelphia to gain some ground. The Sixers were out and running early as they built a 15-point lead in the first quarter and despite the Cavs using their size and length to get back into the game, the Sixers held on for a 103-93 victory at home.
Joel Embiid had another really impressive night and led the Sixers with 40 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists, Tyrese Maxey had 16 points, Tobias Harris added 11 and five rebounds, and Matisse Thybulle had six and a career-high six steals. Furkan Korkmaz also added nine off the bench.
