Player grades: Joel Embiid carries Sixers to road win over Cavaliers

Joel Embiid has another big game to carry the Philadelphia 76ers over the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road.

The Philadelphia 76ers hit the road on Wednesday to take on the shorthanded Cleveland Cavaliers looking to bounce back from a loss at home on Monday. The Cavs offered an opportunity to do so with Cleveland missing All-Star big man Jarrett Allen and in the early going, the Sixers were able to do so.

Philadelphia built up a 17-point lead as they were getting big performances out of everybody, but the ball movement was not as crisp after halftime and they saw the lead slip away before they rallied in the fourth quarter to earn a 118-114 win on the road. The win clinches the season series for the Sixers as they now have won the first three matchups between the two teams.

Joel Embiid was terrific as he led the Sixers with 35 points, 17 rebounds, and five assists, James Harden added 21 points and 11 assists, Tobias Harris added 19 points and six rebounds, Tyrese Maxey had 25, and Danny Green added six off the bench.
