PHOTOS: CU Buffs’ comeback attempt falls short in Homecoming game against Arizona State

That was a little bit more encouraging at least.

The Colorado Buffaloes hosted the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday and suffered a tough 42-34 loss at Folsom Field.

Xazavian Valladay continued his impressive season for Arizona State, as the running back totaled 118 yards and three scores on 23 carries. Deion Smith looked every bit like a capable starter, rushing for 111 yards on 24 carries and a score, and JT Shrout threw a pair of touchdown passes.

It was 35-17 Arizona State in the third quarter, but the Buffs were able to score 17 points late to make this more interesting.

Jordan Tyson had a magnificent game, catching five balls for 115 yards and a score, and he rattled off an 88-yard punt return touchdown.
