Although the Colorado Buffaloes ended things with another blowout loss, it was still great to be at Folsom Field for one final Saturday in 2022.
Still, No. 14 Utah, which miraculously finds itself headed to the Pac-12 Championship Game, put up 42 first-half points to make for an ultimately dissapointing end to CU’s 1-11 season. With JT Shrout banged up, backup quarterback Maddox Kopp got the start and was much better in the second half, albeit against the Utes’ backups.
The highlights on senior day remained few and were limited to the second half. Nikko Reed secured an interception that led to an Alex Fontenot touchdown, freshman back Anthony Hankerson found the end zone and in the game’s final minutes, big man Frank Fillip ended his career with a memorable 1-yard touchdown.
