PFF names fan favorite as perfect 2024 NFL draft fit for Bengals

Bengals fans will like this one.

One doesn’t have to look far to see the Cincinnati Bengals named alongside star Georgia tight end Brock Bowers ahead of the 2024 NFL draft.

No wonder why — fans love the idea of Bowers joining the Joe Burrow-led offense as the No. 1 tight end after years of the team just throwing a short-term signing out there in the spot.

Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema added to this noise recently while breaking down the perfect prospect fits for every team, citing Bowers as the pick for the Bengals:

The Bengals lack tight end production – 28th in team tight end receiving grade and 23rd in team tight end receiving yards. Getting their hands on a player of Bowers’ caliber, who earned elite PFF grades in all three seasons he played for the Bulldogs, would be perfect.

It’s hard to project right now if Bowers — owner of 26 receiving scores over three seasons — will be there when the Bengals walk to the podium.

But indeed, after the struggles for Irv Smith Jr. this season and the usage of three-plus names at the spot successfully with Jake Browning under center, this feels like the offseason the team takes the position much more seriously.

That could indeed mean targeting a prospect like Bowers, who really isn’t much of an exaggeration as a perfect fit.
