Caden Sterns S – He’s one of the best safeties in the entire conference and will likely be a team captain this season, he just needs to stay healthy.
Joseph Ossai LB – Texas has to get after the quarterback in Chris Ash’s new scheme, we got a glimpse of that with his three sacks and six tackles for loss against Utah.
D’Shawn Jamison DB – Versatility. Jamison is expected to get more playing time this season, at both cornerback and as a kick returner.
Ta’Quon Graham DE – Texas had one of the worst defensive units in college football last season. If they want to win games in the trenches, they need to let Graham loose.
Anthony Cook CB – Started four games last year, Tom Herman recently announced that Cook will be playing some at nickel this season.

Undefeated heavyweight prospect [autotag]Steve Mowry[/autotag] will have to wait a little longer for his next fight.
Just five days prior to when he was supposed to compete at Bellator 239, Mowry (7-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) has pulled out of his scheduled bout with Rudy Schaffroth (6-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA).
MMA Junkie confirmed the news with a Bellator official on Monday, though additional details were not revealed. According to Mowry, though, it’s because of a medical issue (via Instagram):

Hey guys. Due to a health concern I won’t be fighting this weekend. I’m hoping the issue will resolve soon and i’ll be rescheduled in a few weeks.
Mowry, 27, most recently competed at Bellator 231 in October when he earned a second-round submission of Gokhan Saricam. He’s finished all seven of his career opponents.
With Mowry unable to compete, MMA Junkie confirmed Schaffroth will not receive a replacement opponent and is off the Bellator 239 card, as well.
New York Giants outside linebackers coach/senior assistant Bret Bielema is interviewing with Colorado for their head coaching position.
The New York Giants breathed a sigh of relief earlier this month when outside linebacker coach/senior assistant Bret Bielema was passed over for the Michigan State job despite a strong “mutual interest.”
At the time, it appeared as if Joe Judge’s staff was stable and that Bielema would remain a part of it.
That may not be the case, however.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Bielema is now interviewing for the vacant head coaching position at the University of Colorado.
#Giants OLBs coach and senior defensive assistant Bret Bielema is interviewing for the head coaching job at the University of Colorado, sources say. The former Wisconsin and Arkansas coach could be back in college.
Judge has offered nothing but praise for Bielema to this point.
“There’s a lot of things (to like) about Bret,” Judge said. “I think Bret brings a great personality to the group, brings a great perspective on how he sees the game, he’s coached the front for some time, he’s coordinated defenses at a high level. Players respond to Bret in a positive way. He has a great way of teaching, he has a great way of getting the guys motivated, and he gets the most out of his players.
“He brings experience from the NFL, as well as college, so not only does he understand what’s going on in the league now, he understands what the players coming from college are used to and how to better translate the trends they’re going to see.”

We’re going out on a limb in February and making some prognostications about what’s to come for the Wolverines this fall.
[jwplayer xt2ruMBm-XNcErKyb]
We’ve got a good month before spring ball is in full swing, but it’s never too early to make some early prognostications for what could be on the horizon this upcoming fall.
Michigan football has a ton of question marks, as it’ll be starting a new quarterback, has to replace a lot of key components across the board, and finished 2019 reeling with two consecutive losses for the fourth-straight year.
However, there’s a lot to like about the personnel, the consistency on the coaching staff on offense, and some of the anticipated parts on defense.
WolverinesWire is taking a bold look into the future, here in February, anticipating what might be in 2020. It might be a lot of optimism, but that’s what the offseason is for.
Five Michigan football bold predictions for 2020
Michigan’s starting QB sets a school passing record
We probably won’t know until September, when Michigan takes the field at Washington who the starting quarterback is, but it feels like the Wolverines passing game is set to take off, whether it’s Dylan McCaffrey or Joe Milton under center.
Now, we predicted this multiple times last preseason with quarterback Shea Patterson, and he didn’t quite get there, but he did have the second-best single season in Michigan football history, yardage-wise. The bar isn’t as high as you’d think, with John Navarre’s single-season record at 3,331 yards, but we think Michigan is going to attempt to pass the ball, something fierce. It’s even told prospective recruits that that’s in the plans.
Milton and McCaffrey were both 50% passers or lower in 2019, but they came in mostly in relief, late in games, their first year in offensive coordinator Josh Gattis’ system. We feel like this offseason, both players are going to be making each other better, and once the season comes, the starter will be constantly looking over his shoulder — meaning, he’ll have to make plays in order to keep his job. With a talented cadre of wideouts and a full familiarity of the playbook, it should be a boon for a Michigan passing game that took until near the end of the season to take off a year ago.
We anticipate Michigan will start hot on this front and stay hot. And whoever is the main man under center will eclipse that 3,331 yards set nearly two decades ago.
The Packers got help at both WR and LB and along the two lines in Draft Wire’s latest mock draft.
The latest mock draft from Draft Wire has the Green Bay Packers landing playmaking athletes at two of the team’s biggest need positions.
Luke Easterling of Draft Wire sent TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor to the Packers at No. 30 and Oregon linebacker Troy Dye to Green Bay at No. 62, providing the infusion of athleticism and playmaking ability that both positions so desperately need.
Reagor is a dynamic athlete with game-breaking speed who could give the Packers passing game a jolt both as a deep receiver and a creator after the catch. He’s a home-run hitter with versatility, and it’s possible he could blossom into a star with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback in Matt LaFleur’s offense.
Dye started all four seasons at linebacker for Oregon and has three-down ability at the next level if he can add weight to his 6-4 frame. His range and coverage ability are both attributes the Packers are missing at inside linebacker, a position in need of rebuilding this offseason.
The majority of national mock drafts have the Packers taking some combination of receiver and inside linebacker in the first two rounds. It’s a potentially historically great receiver draft class, and the Packers can’t afford to miss out on a linebacker with so much uncertainty drowning the position.
Reagor and Dye is one potential combination worth investigating. They both possess intriguing playmaking attributes that could fit what the Packers are looking for at the two need positions.
In the third round, Draft Wire sent the Packers an offensive lineman in the form of Ohio State’s Jonah Jackson, a guard prospect. The fourth round saw the Packers take Larrell Murchison, a defensive lineman who could compete for snaps along the three-man front.
Draft Wire’s picks for Packers in the four-round mock:
1.30: WR Jalen Reagor, TCU
2.62: LB Troy Dye, Oregon
3.94: OL Jonah Jackson, Ohio State
4.126: DL Larrell Murchison, NC State
