Over/under for Josh Allen’s 2020 passing stats set quite high

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen over/under for passing yards and passing touchdowns in 2020.

Coming off of a solid start to his career, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has the bar set high for him by fans and, now oddsmakers, alike.

In the third year of a quarterback’s career, they’re typically expected to be a more polished product after their first two seasons. Also factoring into that for Allen is the help the Bills got for him on offense, namely acquiring wide receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason.

In regard to the sportsbooks, they see the Bills QB having a solid Year 3.

BetMGM‘s marks for some of Allen’s over/ unders would see the signal caller have a career year in 2020. If Allen hits the over for the numbers pegged for his passing yards and passing touchdown’s, it’ll be the best year of his young career.

Currently oddsmakers have Allen’s touchdown total at 20.5. That’s right at his career-high of 20 from last season. A year ago also saw Allen hit the 3,089 mark in terms of passing yards. His over/ under there opens at 3,249.5 yards.

BetMGM handed out passing yards over/unders to the following quarterbacks: Tom Brady, Carson Wentz, Daniel Jones, Phillip Rivers, Sam Darnold, Drew Brees, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, DeShaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, Kyler Murray, Ben Roethlisberger, Jimmy Garoppolo, Russell Wilson, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, Kirk Cousins, Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford and Ryan Tannehill.

Of all those, the Allen-Jackson comparison is worth mentioning. The two have the same over/under prediction of 3,249.5 yards. It’s the lowest total handed out. But Allen and the defending MVP are among the most dual-threat quarterback types in the NFL which explains that.

But Jackson’s over/under passing TD total is a bit higher than Allen’s at 26.5. Maybe a good bet since he had 36 a year ago.
