One Texas Longhorn Makes USA Today Sports All-Bowl Team

One Texas Longhorn makes list of USA Today Sports’ all-bowl team for his performance against the Utah Utes in the Alamo Bowl.

With the college football bowl season behind us, USA Today Sports writer Paul Myerberg has compiled his list for the All-Bowl team. The Longhorns had several players who could have made the team but ultimately only one was chosen for his Alamo Bowl performance.

Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger had a worthy performance but it wasn’t enough to outshine Joe Burrow of LSU with his Heisman run to the National Championship. Running Back Keaontay Ingram was the other offensive star worthy of acknowledgement with his 15 touches for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Ultimately that performance couldn’t outshine Journey Brown of Penn State or Travis Etienne of Clemson.

Defensively the Longhorns linebacker Joseph Ossai was recognized for his performance in the Texas 38-10 victory over Utah. Ossai was able to harass the Utes’ quarterback Tyler Huntley to the tune of three sacks to go with his nine combined tackles. The sophomore linebacker is looking to make an even bigger impact in his junior campaign.

Joseph Ossai finished the season with 90 total tackles, 13.5 for loss, five sacks and two interceptions.
