Texas remained at No. 28 overall in USA TODAY Sports latest college football Re-Rank this week.
However, Oklahoma State managed to rise two spots after defeating Baylor last week by a score of 42-3. It was enough to put the Cowboys one spot ahead of the Longhorns at No. 27 overall.
Although Texas narrowly defeated Oklahoma State in overtime back in October, the Cowboys did manage to defeat Iowa State and were able to play one more game than Texas this season.
Iowa State remains the highest ranked team from the Big 12 this week at No. 12 overall, while Oklahoma dropped one spot to No. 14. There’s certainly a path for the Big 12 champion to sneak into the College Football Playoff, but they’ll need help from a few teams ahead of them for that dream to become a reality.
