Ohio State receiver Kaleb Brown enters the transfer portal

One more entry into the portal before the spring window closed.

The spring transfer portal window closed Sunday night, but it did not close without one more entry. Ohio State receiver Kaleb Brown entered his name in the portal before the deadline.

Brown was a top 100 recruit and the No. 13 receiver in the 2022 class according to 247Sports composite. He was the first wideout in the class to have his black stripe removed, and he appeared in five games as a freshman, catching one pass for five yards.

In a crowded receiver room, Brown didn’t see a path forward to significant playing time. Early enrollees Carnell Tate and Noah Rogers both had excellent showings in the spring game, and Brandon Inniss is set to arrive this summer. Not to mention all the upperclassmen ahead on the depth chart.

Brown hails from Chicago and had been seen as a Michigan lean before committing to the Buckeyes in the summer of 2021.

For now, the portal is closed, so there will be no more players entering the portal for a while. We’ll keep you up to date as we hear where Brown and others decide to land.
