Nick Sagan’s retirement set off a big domino effect across college football. Ohio State was among those to take advantage of many of the Crimson Tide’s top players and recruits looking elsewhere.
The Buckeyes were able to bring in two of Alabama’s best players between center Seth McLaughlin and safety Caleb Downs. They also landed Julian Sayin, the top ranked quarterback in the 2024 class late in the recruiting cycle after Saban’s retirement announcement.
Ohio State has been heavily pursuing another highly-coveted recruit that decommitted from Alabama after the news. That player is wide receiver Jaime Ffrench, who is ranked as top 50 player on all four major recruiting resources and is the 25th ranked player in the 2025 class on the On 3 Industry rankings.

It appears that the Buckeyes are in a good spot in the recruitment of Ffrench as on Monday On3’s Matt Parker predicted the Buckeyes to land the coveted wide receiver.
Ohio State has recruited wide receivers better than any other program in recent memory and Ffrench would be a massive addition to their 2025 class.
