Tennessee baseball extends win streak to 12 games.

No. 8 Tennessee (13-1) defeated Southern Indiana (4-8), 2-1, on Wednesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Wednesday’s win is Tennessee’s 12th consecutive.

Zander Sechrist started for Tennessee and pitched 5.2 innings. He recorded 10 strikeouts and totaled 78 pitches (58 strikes).

Kirby Connell earned his first save of the season for Tennessee. He pitched three innings and totaled four strikeouts.

The Vols recorded six hits in the contest, including a home run by Christian Moore. Dalton Bargo produced Tennessee’s other RBI against Southern Indiana.

Tennessee will next host Illinois for a three-game series, Friday-Sunday, at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Friday’s contest is slated for 6 p.m. EST, while the final two games are scheduled for 1 p.m. EST. All games can be watched on SEC Network+.
